Let’s conclude with a collection of answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding SEO texts and the „profession“ of an SEO copywriter.

  1. Do I need to have an education, degree, or similar to write (and offer) SEO texts?
Absolutely not. In fact, it has been shown with over 350 copywriters in the last 10 years that Germanists and trained editors take much longer and are „worse“ because they are often stuck in rigid structures and cannot break free. SEO texts are based on facts and, as you know, are not creative outpourings, stories, or narratives.
Our best copywriter emigrated to Egypt, was an office clerk at a small company, and is a native Israeli. That says it all… why is she good? Because she understood it and works according to a scheme for Google with a focus on people (readers).
  2. Is there a recommended book for learning/practicing/referencing?
Short and sweet. No! Books are usually outdated as soon as they are printed. There are thousands of basic rules for writing, BUT you have been given the best scheme and the best tools with this course. Rather, go through the course 3 times and improve from text to text. You don’t need anything more…
  3. How can I find freelance/part-time assignments?
Portals like Textbroker, freelancer.de, etc., offer you the ideal basis. One of our favorites is fiverr*. Here you can offer your services internationally. Otherwise, there are countless Facebook groups where assignments are posted daily.
  4. How much/little can I charge for a good SEO text?
If the briefing is good and you have some practice, you can charge 6-8 cents per word.
Absolute professionals charge up to 12 cents.
Anything above that is already very expensive, and with a good briefing from the client, the price is fair.
The goal should be to be able to write 1,000 words per hour.
This gives you a solid hourly wage of 60-120 Euros.
