Many modern and „larger“ shops already display available variants (sizes, clothing sizes, shoe sizes, dimensions, specifications, etc.) in the product overview (shop page, categories, tag pages, archive pages, etc.) to ensure the best possible user-friendliness (usability). This article will focus on the implementation, as this is not available in the standard.

Display & Customize WooCommerce Available Sizes in Product Overview – Show Available Variants

By default, WooCommerce does not display available variants. Even plugins often reach their limits here, as they often show all variants and not just those that are actually available/sellable. But this is precisely the most important point, as our following examples show:

The WooCommerce function for displaying available variants

Our developed snippet (programmed function) is compatible with the current WooCommerce version and automatically adds the „variant element“ to each product tile within the product overview. This affects all normal WooCommerce product elements such as tiles (grids), sliders, listings, etc.

The function is compatible with all themes that use the normal WooCommerce product overview, and that should be most of them!

Depending on the theme and product display, the snippet may need minimal adjustments and the CSS code may need to be changed.
The display is thus highly customizable.
