Editing and customizing WooCommerce emails has never been easier! Easily edit/customize WooCommerce emails & use individual templates
WooCommerce shops send emails by default using a rather simple template. This looks good, but it’s not an optical highlight, and above all, it can only be customized in the code. First, we will briefly explain where the normal automatic emails in WooCommerce can be found, and then we will go into the simple customization for editing texts, appearance, layout, and extensions.
In the WooCommerce email settings (WooCommerce > Settings > Emails), you can specify which sender should be used for email notifications. Additionally, you can set a sender name, header image, footer text, base color, background color, and text color. That’s it, nothing more is possible by default!
Changing the standard texts of WooCommerce emails & automatic notifications
To change the standard texts, you can either use your own templates or those from plugins.
Important: always use a child theme and proceed as follows to edit the email templates:
- Open /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/templates/emails via FTP
- Copy the files you want to edit from the /emails directory
- In the child theme folder = /wp-content/themes/CHILD-THEME-NAME/, create a woocommerce folder with a subfolder emails (written exactly like this!) -> Result = /wp-content/themes/CHILD-THEME-NAME/woocommerce/emails
- Then paste the copied files into the /emails directory
- Here you can then make the edits in the code!
