For several WooCommerce versions, a so-called „WooCommerce Analytics“ is unfortunately activated in the background by default, even with updates to existing installations, which sends data to Automattic, the developers and the company behind WooCommerce. This is intended to improve all functions, but it transfers data to third countries and third parties, which is not permitted under the GDPR without consent.
Deactivate WooCommerce StatsWP (remain GDPR compliant)
Automatically, without any activation, a script is suddenly loaded in the shop’s header „https://stats.wp.com/w.js?ver=******“. This sends data to Automattic from Woocommerce.com*, which is intended to improve WooCommerce. So far so good… but do we, as shop operators, want that? Usually not, as I have no advantages and am more likely to receive a warning due to data protection violations (GDPR).
The solution is so simple, but extremely well hidden 😉 Logical! Everyone wants data.
Many will not have noticed this at all, unless the browser plugin for cookie detection triggers or you use the probably best cookie banner for automatic identification! More on this in this article:

And that’s how easy it is to deactivate stats.wp.com (WooCommerce StatsWP)
As shown in the screenshot below, the setting can be found under the following link: https://YOURDOMAIN.de/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=advanced§ion=features
Menu path: WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Features > Uncheck box + SAVE!
And that's it. No more data will be transferred externally via this function.
