Buy a logo or make it yourself?
Corporate Design Logo Buy Have Designed

Anyone starting a company, launching a startup, opening a business, or becoming a freelancer has a lot on their plate. There are countless things to consider. The battle with bureaucracy is exhausting, and at the same time, numerous important decisions must be made that will be crucial for the future of the company.

Buy a logo? What makes a good logo?

Many forget an important aspect: buying a logo. It may seem secondary at first, as there are so many fundamental things to consider, especially when founding a company. A logo? There will be time for that later. However, a good, recognizable company logo is of utmost importance.

And the logo should be there from the very beginning. After all, it has to be at the top of the website, printed on business cards, or even adorn the shop sign. Advertising material will be printed with it, company cars will proudly drive around with it, attracting the public’s attention. When the activity is in full swing, the logo will be the representation and the signboard for the entire company, and the first thing that catches the potential customer’s eye.

Therefore, the importance of a good and recognizable logo should never be underestimated.

What makes a good logo?

  • Unique
A good logo must be unique. At the very least, it must not be interchangeable with competitors‘ logos and should, on the contrary, clearly stand out from them. Within the same industry, similar symbols are often used, which, however, reduces the recognition value of the individual brand. Original but appropriate symbols and concise fonts should provide a remedy.
  • Recognizable
Whoever sees the logo should immediately recognize what it is about. The brand name does not necessarily have to be next to it. Certain elements such as colors, fonts, or graphic symbols can be used to achieve this effect.
  • Simple
A well-designed logo should not be too complicated. It should have few elements, not be overloaded, and not try to do too much. The simpler a logo is, the greater its recognition value. Less is often more.
  • Abstract
The logo does not necessarily have to visually represent the activity in question. Rather, the essence should be captured and the company philosophy stylized.
  • Timeless
There are many fads that come and go. A good logo, however, should be timeless and always appear current. Logos with truly brilliant design change only minimally over the decades, because they never lose their relevance. This is also important so as not to damage the brand’s recognition value through constant changes to the company logo. Not to mention the high costs of changing promotional materials, signs, prints, gadgets, and websites. It should ideally not be recognizable from the logo in which decade it was created. A company logo is a long-term investment and should under no circumstances be chosen according to current trends.
